Our week in Texas was great. It was fun spending so much time with Ben as well as visiting with friends around town and at the hospital. We had planned on coming straight back to AMI from Boston but I had a few doctors appointments that we were able to consolidate into the week so it worked out well. Dr. Rios, my cardiologist had been after me to have a couple of tests just to make sure the ticker and the pacemaker that keeps it ticking were working appropriately. The good new is that all the results were good. The pacemaker is keeping the pace.
We've now been back on Anna Maria Island (AMI) for two days. Two days means two spectacular sunsets. The only challenge with the sunsets out here right now is that we're having to share them with so many people. If you're from Florida you know exactly what I'm talking about. It starts after Christmas and runs through Easter........ Snowbirds, Spring breakers and Families. Snowbirds are typically the older folks who make left turns from the far right lane and go out to eat dinner at 3:30 in the afternoon so they can get the "early bird special". Spring breakers are the younger, overconsumers of adult beverages who become instant youtube sensations. Thankfully not many college age spring breakers make it to AMI. The families usually have a few kids in tow and in addition to some beach time will also drop some serious money at Disney and/or Universal Studios. It's all good for the economy but it does require an extra dose of patience as well as building in some extra time when you're trying to get somewhere. The good news is yesterday was Easter. While it's still crowded out here, the crowds will be dwindling down over the next week as these good folks head back north.
Even better news for us is that we're going to have some very special guests visiting us next week. Sarah, Joey, Sweet Baby James and Ben are going to be coming down for a few days. NaNa is sure getting excited about seeing everyone!
