Adios Bodega Bay!

We snuck in behind Emma Joy for a quick picture before she realized we were there.
We're absolutely stunned at how quickly the month has passed.  We visited Sarah, Joey, James and Emma Joy one final time last night.  They were the reason for our making the trip and we enjoyed our time with them so much.  It's amazing how much both children grew in the six months since we had last seen them.  Saying goodbye was tough!

Sunday morning hike on the Kortum Trail with our favorite daughter!

MiMi and Emma Joy watching James playing in his backyard pool.  Shortly after the picture was taken Emma Joy realized it wasn't Mom or Dad holding her.

Today we simply enjoyed what we have come to love about Bodega Bay.  Watching the tide roll in and out, the birds, enjoying the cool temperatures and the mix of sun, clouds and fog.  Of course I can't forget we had one final dip in the hot tub, especially since we easily spent the equivalent of a full day in there during our stay!
As she does everyday, Beth beat me in scrabble.  We enjoyed a final walk on the Birdwatch and Cheney Creek Bridge Trails as well as the entire length of Doran Beach.  We were pleased to see the campground at the beach opened today.  Campers were streaming in at a steady pace to join those that had already set up.  They all had huge smiles on their faces.  I guess you could call them "Happy Campers".

Our next destination is back to Florida for the annual Anna Maria Island 4th of July Celebration and family reunion.  It will be a little smaller this year due to the coronavirus pandemic but it will still be nice to see everyone.  We are especially looking forward to Ben joining us for a few days!
We haven't left yet, but we're already looking forward to our next visit to Bodega Bay and with the very special family that lives nearby.
