A Kinky Day in London!

After getting about 12 hours sleep last night, which is about 6-7 more than normal we were rested and ready for our second day in London.
Today we had a little bit of a game plan and surprisingly we stuck to it.  First up was to head to Leicester (pronounced Lester) Square to see what discount tickets were available for any of the plays in the West End.  The West End is London's equivalent to New York's Broadway.  There were several shows that we were interested in but we were able to get our first choice which was Kinky Boots.
I won't go into a lot of the plot but there was a very nice message of acceptance wrapped around a fun story and music by Cyndi Lauper.  When doing a little research on the show afterwards we learned that it was very loosely based on a true story.
After picking up tickets and prior to the show we enjoyed walking around the Westminster and St. James area.  These areas are the more "touristy" areas with Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abby, Big Ben, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and the River Thames.  By London standards for this time of year it was a pretty nice day which means it wasn't raining and occasionally the sun would come out so it was pretty crowded but still manageable.  Even though we had been in this area several times it's kinda one of those things that no visit to London would be complete without seeing and we enjoyed it.
After the play we headed back towards the hotel which was two miles away.  Had a great meal at a little local pub called Skinners Arms on one of the side streets close to the hotel.  A Steak and Ale pie and a Chicken and Leek pie were a great way to end the day!
We are usually not able to look back at the end of the day and find that we did what we set out to do but today was one of those days and it was a very nice one.
